Reflexology

Reflexology in Shrewsbury | Sublime Shrewsbury

Since ancient Egyptian times, Reflexology has been used to stimulate specific reflex points on the hands and feet, to bring natural balance between different systems of the body, as each reflex point corresponds to an organ, gland, or part of the skeleton.

Reflexology is a therapeutic practice that offers numerous health benefits. Stress is a major contributor to about 75% of diseases with over 7,000 nerve endings in the foot and lower leg. Reflexology can promote deep relaxation which can help relieve physical pain and facilitate emotional balance. When our body is imbalanced or fatigued it can lead to stiffness, aches and low mood. Reflexology encourages  fresh blood to flow to nourish the bodies tissues and stimulate the elimination of waste products.  Reflexology also stimulates the organs and glands of the body, promoting overall harmony, well-being and balancing of the emotions.

Reflexology  involves massaging and stretching the lower leg or arm to enhance blood circulation and promote lymphatic drainage, thereby improving skin tone and calming the nerve endings. The therapist applies firm pressure to specific reflex zones of the feet or hand by using their thumbs and fingers in a continuous and fluid motion. They may also pivot on a particular area to apply extra pressure and stimulate energy flow, which helps the body restore its balance of this reflex point.

During the treatment, you will remain fully dressed, but if you wear trousers, you must roll them up to the knee or remove them to prevent creasing. Also, please avoid wearing nail varnish on your toenails as this can hinder the therapist's assessment and monitoring during the session.
